I also have a few remaining copies of Fly Fisher (published by Jonathan Cape). This book, now out of print, covers lake fishing for rainbow and brown trout, and also sea-trout in Scottish lochs. It was written during, and features, the final years of the great Loch Maree sea-trout fishery, before this natural wonder was destroyed by salmon farming.
Price: £15, plus £3 p&p
Note: I will sign the book you choose. Postage is second-class British mainland. Elsewhere will incur the international postage cost applicable.
Fishing on the Frontier: This is my regular feature in Fish & Fly which covers contemporary development in fly fishing as practiced essentially in Europe, up to the state-of-the-art presentation techniques for trout and grayling, which, after all, represents the frontier of the sport. Access to the series via the Fish & Fly website.
Fly Fishing and Fly Tying Magazine: This outstanding publication is in my view the best fly fishing magazine of them all, with a great range of coverage, including topical techniques and fly development as well as the conservation aspects of our sport and the freshwater environment. I recommend all fly fishers (and those with political influence) read this monthly publication to keep abreast with what is happening in the fly fishing world and our freshwater habitats.
The Countryman’s Weekly: The top British newspaper/magazine covering news, articles, reviews and features of all aspects of countryside matters and field sports. I write a monthly fly fishing feature.
